Stellite 703 is a cobalt-based chromium-molybdenum-carbon alloy developed for applications combining abrasive wear and corrosion. Based on the traditional Stellite 3 alloy, it replaces tungsten with molybdenum to improve corrosion resistance in reducing environments while maintaining strong wear resistance. Hard carbide particles reinforce the cobalt alloy matrix, while molybdenum provides additional solid-solution strengthening. Available as cast components, Stellite 703 is a candidate for valve seats, slides, and other flow-control parts exposed to demanding wear and corrosive process conditions.
